1979 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak "Jumbo" Ultra Thin Gold / Steel 5402SA

An extremely rare and highly collectible superb condition 1979 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak "Jumbo" size 39mm Ultra Thin in Gold / Steel reference 5402SA with a crispy famous "petite tapisserie" pattern dial with nice patina and matching hands. This 5402SA carries the ‘AP’ logo at 12 o’clock, typical of later examples (from mid-400 serial onwards). The Gold / Steel version has only been produced at 951 units only (92 (1977), 299 (1978), 180 (1979), 92 (1980), 126 (1981), 39 (1982), 9 (1983), 6 (1984), 6 (1985), 6 (1986), 10 (1987), 2 (1988), 4 (1989), 3 (1990), 1 (1993) 1 (2002)). The Royal Oak 5402 is powered by the ultra-thin AP Caliber 2121, derived from Jaeger-LeCoultre’s legendary ultra-thin JLC 920 calibre movement. This reference is in excellent condition showing light signs of age and or scratches.
