1971 Tudor Oysterdate Chronograph Monte-Carlo "Homeplate" Grey Dial 7032/0
A serious, first owner, unpolished and very rare 1971 Tudor Oysterdate Chronograph, aka Monte-Carlo reference 7032/0, also known as "Homeplate" due to its prominent stainless steel case and flat stainless steel graduated bezel. This exceptional timepiece features a stunning racing dial in absolute perfect condition with its original matching hands. The watch is in unpolished condition, preserving its original character and integrity, making it a sought-after collectible among enthusiasts.
The 1971 Tudor Oysterdate Chronograph Monte-Carlo 7032/0—often nicknamed the “Homeplate” for its distinctive pentagonal hour markers—is one of the most charismatic vintage chronographs produced by Tudor during its early foray into sporty tool watches. Featuring a bold, highly legible dial with contrasting sub-registers and vibrant color accents reminiscent of roulette wheels (hence the “Monte-Carlo” moniker), it stood out sharply from more conservative designs of the era. Housed in a robust 40mm steel case with pump pushers and paired with a rotating bezel, the reference 7032/0 was powered by a manual-wind Valjoux chronograph movement, delivering both reliability and precision. Today, its rarity, unconventional aesthetics, and historical significance within Tudor’s chronograph lineage make it especially prized among collectors.
