SOLD OUT

An extremely rare and highly collectible stainless steel 1943 Patek Philippe Square reference 1408 with a superb silvered dial and applied Breguet Numerals -Mentioned on the Extract- steel hour markers.

The 1943 Patek Philippe “Square” Ref. 1408 in stainless steel is a striking example of the brand’s understated elegance during the mid-20th century, a period when even utilitarian materials were elevated through exceptional craftsmanship. Its square case, uncommon for the era, reflects the subtle influence of Art Deco design while maintaining the refined proportions for which Patek Philippe is renowned. The silvered dial, adorned with applied Breguet numerals, adds a layer of classical sophistication—those distinctive, stylized Arabic numerals offering both legibility and a sense of timeless artistry. Housed in stainless steel rather than precious metal, the watch carries a rare, almost modern appeal, as such configurations were produced in far smaller quantities at the time. Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives, the piece gains additional historical significance, confirming its production in 1943 and reinforcing its authenticity and provenance. Altogether, this reference embodies a harmonious blend of rarity, design innovation, and horological heritage, making it particularly desirable among collectors of vintage Patek Philippe timepieces.
