1950s Patek Philippe "Center-Second" 18k Yellow Gold Silvered Dial 2533
An exceptionally well-preserved 18k yellow gold mid 1950s Patek Philippe reference 2533 (the 565 successor) in 34,5mm featuring a very rare in original condition off-white silvered dial with "center-second" hand and beautiful original lume indexes and matching hands. This ultra rare wristwatch was produced at approximately 400 pieces between 1952 and 1956 (300 in 18k yellow gold and 100 in 18k rose gold). The watch is in excellent condition showing light signs of age and or scratches.
In 1952 there was a shift between the reference 565 and the present reference 2533, a decidedly rare model given its low production numbers limited to 400 total pieces. The resemblance between the two watches is remarkable: the curved design of the case is inherited from the previous model but modernized with some small details, such as the stepped bezel, usually delicate but very visible in this lot thanks to its perfect conditions of the yellow-gold case. Even the silvered dial is a great peculiarity which can be found on this watch, along with the particular arrow indexes also in yellow gold with internal radium. (MLG)
